AEASP 2021 Faculty Justin Pierce
Justin Pierce is a Principal Economist at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C. He has advised Howard University students enrolled in programs and courses offered jointly with the Federal Reserve since 2015. Dr. Pierce’s research focuses on the implications of changes in international trade policy for individuals, firms, and regions. His recent work examines the impact on the manufacturing sector of the 2018-2019 tariff actions and U.S. trade liberalization toward China. His research has been published in academic journals including American Economic Review, the Journal of Economic Perspectives, and the Journal of International Economics, and it has been covered by The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and The Economist. Dr. Pierce holds a B.A. in Economics and International Affairs from The George Washington University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from Georgetown University.
