AEASP 2021 Scholar Mariah Allen
Mariah Allen is a recent graduate from Marymount University, who studied Sociology and Economics with a minor in Spanish. Originally from Michigan, she came to the DMV area for college in order to discover more opportunities outside of her home state. During her time in undergrad Mariah explored DC and had the opportunity to travel outside of the country for the first time. She studied abroad in Cuba, Costa Rica, and Peru. This experience influenced her economic interest in remittances, finance and international banking. Mariah is hoping to obtain a PhD in economics and become a researcher at one of the regional federal reserve banks. She looks forward to meeting like-minded passionate people in the AEA Summer Program and to make long lasting connections.
