Michelle Nguyen is a first-generation student aspiring to a Ph.D. in Economics. She is passionate about human rights, nonprofits, & equity in higher education. In May 2021, she will earn her BA in Economics & Political Science with a minor in Nonprofit Administration at the University of North Dakota. At UND, she has been recognized as a Dream Award & Ronald E. McNair Scholar, Leader in Action, President of the Nonprofit Leadership Organization, National Scholarship Peer Advisor, & hockey cheerleader. She will begin graduate school at IU Lilly School of Philanthropy in the fall. She is interested in learning how the philanthropic sector contributes to the United States economy. Her mission is to apply her research to help make higher education more accessible and achievable. In the community, she has served as a Campaign Manager, Board Member for Global Friends Coalition, & Board Member for North Dakota Dollars For Scholars.
