AEASP 2022 Scholar Aby Mbaye

My name is Aby Ramata and I am an Economics-Mathematics major at Whitman College.

The economic challenges faced by my country (Senegal) and most of Sub Saharan Africa primarily fueled my interest in economics, with the goal to integrate environmental and equity aspects into policymaking. After getting my Bachelor's degree in Economics and Mathematics,  I plan to enroll in an Economic PhD program. My research interests at the moment include uncovering the benefits and costs of environmental quality in order to facilitate sustainable development in the developing world.

Besides academics, I enjoy trying out new recipes and traveling to warm places.
