AEASP 2022 Scholar Fabian Leal
Fabian Leal is an incoming 4th-year student at the University of Florida (UF). He is an Economics and Geography double-major and a Mathematics minor. Fabian is a Venezuelan-American originally from Caracas, and later grew up in Miami, FL. He is involved in and has held multiple leadership positions at UF's University Economics Society. He will also be pursuing an undergraduate honors thesis in Economics throughout his senior year.
Fabian hopes to become a contributor to the field of economics due to its instruction on topics of poverty, development, and macroeconomic phenomena that affect all people today. He is also interested in studying economics through a lens of spatial thinking. Fabian hopes to be a leader and assist future underrepresented students pursuing this path. His ultimate goal is to pursue a Ph.D. in Economics upon graduation from UF and work in academia as both a professor and researcher.
