AEASP 2022 Scholar Gabriela Lahera
Gabriela Lahera Vazquez is a first-generation college student born in Cuba. She spent her formative years both in her native country and Miami, Florida but decided to venture out of state for her undergraduate degree. She is Posse Scholar at Mount Holyoke College pursuing a major in Economics, a minor in French, and a Sustainable Studies certificate. Her background in environmental studies from high school combined with her experience as an analytics and education intern at the SDG Academy (a branch of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network) buttressed her interest in Environmental Economics, resource allocation, and climate policy. She hopes to pursue these interests in the workforce and is thrilled to develop her skills this summer along with like-minded individuals. In her free time Gabriela crochets and dances. While she is quite a novice in the former, she has been dancing since the early age of three.
