AEASP 2022 Scholar Rakeen Tanvir
Rakeen Tanvir earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Boston College. Afterwards, he spent almost a decade in business development with a focus on engineering, scientific, and software technology. He has been an IDEX Fellow in Social Enterprise, and he worked for five years at MathWorks, the developers of MATLAB and Simulink.
Rakeen is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Mathematics & Statistics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he is a Graduate Teaching Assistant for math and statistical data science courses. In August 2022, he will become an Economics Research Assistant in the Macroeconomics and Quantitative Studies section of the Research & Statistics division at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors.
Rakeen's research interests include multidimensional economic indices, discounting, and forecasting in the long-term evolution of the economy and technological progress and growth. He also has interests in the development of statistical methodology in applied econometrics.
