AEASP 2023 Scholar Andres Davila
Andres Davila is a fourth-year student at Florida International University (FIU), majoring in Economics with a minor in Mathematics and Computer Science. He is originally from Miami but comes from a Colombian-Venezuelan background. At FIU, he is involved in the student newspaper as an assistant news editor for international news and is a member of FIU’s international honor society for computing disciplines, Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE).
Andres is interested in international economics and data science, inspired by his background and his study abroad experience in Spain. He is interested in researching the areas of developmental economics, particularly in policies that can be implemented to further progress countries. He hopes to become an example for those who come from underrepresented backgrounds and assist them in pursuing paths relating to economics. Upon graduation from FIU, he hopes to do his graduate studies in economics and work as a researcher in international economics.
