AEASP 2023 Scholar Nayomi Her
Nayomi Her is a Hmong American rising senior pursuing dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics and Public Policy, with a minor in Critical Studies of Race and Ethnicity at St. Catherine University. She has conducted research in education policy and labor economics, with a focus on education disparities and the economic outcomes of Asian Americans. Her work was recognized by the Minnesota Economic Association's 2022 Undergraduate Student Paper Contest, where her group's project on the impact of racial diversity on educational attainment won first place in the Economic Communication category. Nayomi serves as a research assistant for her university’s Economics and Political Science Department and an AVID tutor at Central High School. She is also the Outreach Coordinator for the Minnesota Center for Diversity in Economics and the Director of Outreach for her university's Economics Club. In her free time, Nayomi enjoys traveling and exploring new restaurants and cafes.
