AEASP 2023 Scholar Ryan Meister
I grew up in Detroit, Michigan, for the majority of my life and lived in a low-income household. After Highschool, I moved to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to pursue a Bachelor's degree in economics from Northern Michigan University. Upon graduating from NMU in 2021, I attended West Virginia University as a fully funded Ph.D. student in economics. After deciding that WVU wasn't the right academic setting for me, I departed for home, where I stayed for a short amount of time. During my time back in Michigan, I decided that although I had just left a Ph.D. in economics, I still wanted to pursue further education – this time at a different institution. I am currently enrolled at the University of North Texas, earning my Masters of Science in Economics.
