AEASP 2023 Scholar Sylvia Porras

I am a senior at New Mexico State University and will be graduating in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Business in Economics. I served as the secretary of the College Assistance Migrant Program Student Council in my freshman year, and as the vice president in my sophomore year. My research experience has been on the impact of migrant farmworkers' backgrounds, as well as energy economics. I will be attending graduate school in the fall to pursue a Master of Science in Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University and plan on enrolling in a doctoral program after I finish to continue to expand my knowledge and conduct research that can be impactful to my community.
