AEASP 2024 Scholar Alejandro De La Torre

Hi everyone! My name is De La Torre, Alejandro! I am a rising junior studying economics and information science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I was raised in Fontana, CA, but have roots in Mexico. I have transformed into a cheese-head and transplanted to Madison, WI as a Posse Scholar from Posse Los Angeles. I aspire to combine my background in economics and information science to work towards furthering antitrust legislation in e-commerce especially at its intersection with cyberlaw, beginning first with in legal practice or policy analysis role. All this with the hope of creating competitive and equitable market conditions to forward social mobility and economic opportunity by eliminating the structural or systemic barriers to entry in these industries that have developed faster than legislation can follow. In my free time I run, lift, cook, make coffee, play guitar, make bouquets, vlog, and live laugh love.
