AEASP 2024 Scholar Alejandro Ouslan

Alejandro Ouslan

I am a 5th year student studying economics at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez. I specialize in econometrics, more specifically in the combination of software engineering to develop more data-intensive tools for economic research. I am very interested in the blend of programming and econometrics. I have worked on multiple projects related to this blend, like the collaborative effort with the UPRM and the "Junta de Planificacion Fiscal" to modernize the recollection and process of economic data like calculating Puerto Rico's GDP. After finishing my masters in Mathematical Statistics I intend to continue my academic career by obtaining a Ph.D in Economics.
