AEASP 2024 Scholar Andrew Eduardo Lugo

Andrew Lugo

My name is Andrew Lugo, and I am a recent graduate from the University of California Santa Barbara. I hold a Bachelor's of Arts in Economics and a minor in Philosophy. I am deeply motivated to pursue a career in academic research and policy analysis to better understand and reduce the deprivations of poverty, both domestic and abroad. My other research interests include the effect of culture on economic development, the leveraging of randomized controlled trials, and analyzing philosophical foundations of economic theory. After the AEA Summer Program, I will serve as a Predoctoral Research Associate within the University of Notre Dame's Poverty Initiative. Finally, I plan to achieve a PhD in economics and contribute to novel research that will improve the welfare of disadvantaged populations.
