AEASP 2024 Scholar Kevin Ruiz Lagarda

Born in Mexico, he immigrated to the United States at the age of 9, which impacted the way he sees the world and wealth. Growing up in the rural town of Leadville, he saw issues within his immigrant community and education. All of this has led to him currently pursuing a triple major at MSU Denver in Economics, Applied Mathematics, and Philosophy. All of this is in hopes of getting a PhD in Economics where there is an interest in the economics of immigration and their intersection with both wealthfare for native-born and immigrants.
