AEASP 2025 Scholar Ambika Kulkarni Orus

Ambika Kulkarni is a rising senior studying Economics at West Virginia University with minors in Pure Mathematics and Data Analytics. She is a Student Research Fellow at the Knee Regulatory Research Center and a Research Apprentice at the Behavioral Economics and Situational Testing Lab at WVU. She has a working paper on nurse practitioners' scope of practice and diversity in healthcare. Her goal at the AEA Summer Program is to refine the skills and mindset necessary for a Ph.D. in economics while supporting like-minded peers. In her free time, she enjoys reading, painting, baking and trying new foods.
Ambika aspires to obtain a Ph.D. so that she can enhance institutional systems to create more equitable outcomes. Born outside the U.S. to Indian and Spanish parents and having lived in multiple countries, she is passionate about uplifting diverse communities and the environment.
