Layla-Marie Davila

Layla-Marie Davila earned her B.A. in Economics from California State University San Marcos, where she developed an interest in economics while helping her family manage a small business during the pandemic. As an undergraduate, she led professional development workshops as Vice President of the Economics Club and completed an econometrics project on home-ice advantage in the NHL.

She is currently pursuing her M.A. in Economics at Claremont Graduate University, where she has conducted applied research on housing policies and public art while completing coursework in microeconomics, mathematical models for economists, and urban studies. As a woman of color, she is passionate about mentorship and expanding representation in economics.

Her research interests include cost-benefit analysis, economic equity, and data-driven policymaking for underserved communities. Layla-Marie plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Economics or Data Analysis to advance equity-focused policy solutions through rigorous, interdisciplinary research.
