AEASP 2025 Scholar Shayan Khan

Shayan Khan is a rising senior at the University of Arizona, majoring in Economics, Mathematics, and Arabic. Motivated by his Pakistani roots, he is particularly interested in economic development, specifically in the reduction of corruption and using international trade to encourage development. Although, he has broad interests in macroeconomics. Currently, he is researching the impact of empathy education on corruption as an AWARDSS-Plus alumni. He plans to apply for Ph.D. programs in Economics, specializing in development economics to further study and learn how he can improve the lives of others in developing countries, specifically in Pakistan. From the AEA Summer program, Shayan hopes to build his skillset to become a better economist to achieve this goal and continue researching topics that he is passionate about. In his free time, Shayan loves to read and spend quality time with his friends.
