AEASP 2023 Scholar Josephine Oshagbemi

Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, Josephine (Yetunde) Oshagbemi is a recent graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. At UMBC, she pursued a Mathematics Honors degree with a minor in Economics. She was also an Alfred P. Sloan Fellow and held two research assistant positions with faculty at UMBC. Her broad research interests are primarily in development and applied microeconomics. She hopes to ultimately address microeconomic issues of gender inequality and wealth disparities in sub-Saharan Africa.

My name is Anthony Montano. I'm currently a senior studying Economics and Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with an expected graduation in Spring 2024. Diamondnia Mack is an alumna at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, where she earned her B.S. in Economics with a minor in Anthropology. Her interests include international economics and climate policy with a focus on racial and gender issues. Diamondnia is the Founder of The Brown Moon Project, an environmental justice initiative dedicated to examining the impact of water scarcity and poor climate and economic policy on Black and Brown women around the world.

Nidhi Nair graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2022, with degrees in Economics and Mathematics-Statistics. My name is John Saunders. I am a Junior at the University at Buffalo, majoring in Mathematics and Economics. My research interests currently are in salience of risk and joint decision making.
