She received a Bachelors of Arts in Economics and minored in African American & Black Diaspora Studies from the College of Arts and Sciences at Boston University. After graduating from BU, Johnson went on to work as a researcher with the Urban Institute's Metropolitan Housing and Communities Policy Center.

AEASP 2024 Scholar Janae Darby

Janae is a rising senior Economics major at Washington and Lee University. She is a student appointee on her school board's Community Engagement and Service Learning Committee and a member of a pro-bono consulting club.
